Introducing the Brooks Heritage x ATMOS 'Pacific' Mila Owen.

by Henrik Buzzi

The exclusive Brooks Heritage x ATMOS 'Pacific' Mila Owen is a collaboration between the notorious athletic footwear brand Brooks and the renowned Japanese sneaker designer Mila Owen, made for the Japanese footwear retailer ATMOS. It is available at a number of select stores in the UK, including the underground Glasgow streetwear retailer Fat Buddha.

Brooks is a renowned designer of athletic shoes. The brand began over a hundred years ago in the US but today Brooks running shoes are appreciated worldwide. Perhaps their most recognisable shoe is the Chariot: an immensely popular sneaker introduced in the eighties. The Chariot aesthetic has been utilised in a number of exciting designs and collaborations recently amongst renewed interest.

Brooks have teamed up with the widely admired Japanese sneaker brands ATMOS and Mila Owen to create a ground-breaking new sneaker. The aptly-named ‘Pacific’ is a testament to contributions to streetwear from two hugely important cities at opposite sides of the ocean: Tokyo and Seattle.

The shoe is made from mostly from neutral grey suede that contrasts with tan pebbled leather chevrons that are displayed proudly on the side. Sections of the toe box and sides are perforated and the inner lining is a dark navy blue. The colour scheme is subtly reminiscent of the ocean, and the Brooks logo is displayed on the back of the shoe and on the tongue. This unconventional colour scheme and design is stunning in its simplicity and reflects the two cities that the shoe plays tribute to.

The Brooks Heritage x ATMOS 'Pacific' Mila Owen is scheduled for a European release on Saturday the 28th of February. It is exclusive to only six UK retailers, including the Fat Buddha Store in Glasgow.
