With many notable collaborations to their name, Singapore upscale sneaker store Limited Edt was an obvious choice for Adidas to work with on the Superstar 80v and ZX Flux. As expected, their treatment resulted in a refreshing mix of graphic elements, a play with materials, and well placed highlights. The reference to the country’s cultural roots is easy to spot on these models as they are literally covering both shoes. Limited Edt looked at the characteristic Batik fabrics as part of their home country’s traditional attire. The patterns are created in an intricate process where colors are applied in multiple circles of painting, dyeing and rinsing. Picking a flower pattern as their main theme plus adding gold as prominent detail was considered a risky move by Limited Edt. The outcome clearly proves their expertise in balancing out extremes to create a bold yet perfectly wearable statement for the Consortium series. Releasing November 28th at selected retailers such as END.
