The Next Door x adidas Consortium

by Henrik Buzzi

The Next Door  brings the distinctive vibe of their French hometown to two court-ready styles from the adidas sneaker stable: the classic SC Premiere  and the future-classic A.R. Trainer . The two shoes pay homage to festival d’Avignon by drawing on the age-old theatrical archetypes of Comedie et Tragedie, two forms that at first thought seem oppositional but actually share an underlying harmony – much like the two shoes that make up the pack. The A.R. Trainer celebrates Comedie, taking inspiration from classic harlequin costumes seen throughout history on the stage of the Comedia De L’Arte theatre. It features subtle nods to the colors of those costumes with shades of peachy-pink across the three stripes and a soft mint-green sole on the underside.

The SC Premiere  takes inspiration from ‘Tragedie’, utilizing a minimalist white palette punctuated by sections of stark, cardinal red – “the color of drapes on a stage, the final curtain…” as Nicolas explains. Its understated appearance belies a host of premium fabrications, including full-grain leather uppers and nubuck eyestays. Both shoes feature The Next Door  branding, as well as the iconic laughing/crying masks on each respective Comedie/Tragedie pair. Together, they form a celebratory homage to both the fashion-forward and the theatrical: two key characteristics of The Next Door’s Avignon home. Releasing August 24 at The Next Door.

by Henrik Buzzi

Concepts has teamed up with New Balance once again, this time putting our twist on the 997S Fusion, a revamped version of the classic Made In USA 997 model.

Other features include Concepts-branded insoles, a special Concepts box and extra lace sets. The Concepts x New Balance 997S Fusion “ESRUC” releases 05. July at Cncpts.

Stanger Things x Nike Collection

by Henrik Buzzi

Set in the summer of 1985, this season of "Stranger Things" finds small-town Hawkins, Indiana, in the midst of change (no surprise). The show's core protagonist group is on the cusp of high school, grappling with themes of love and friendship, and tackling a looming danger.

As in the prior two seasons, 1980s nostalgia informs the Hawkins scene. This extends to the costuming, where classic Nike footwear and brand marks are common. Off-screen, this nostalgia is the impetus for the Nike Stranger Things collection, highlighting the Cortez, Blazer and Tailwind.

The sporting world in 1985 was also undergoing a radical change — energy was reverberating from the summer games in Los Angeles and pro basketball was swinging firmly into its showtime era. At Nike, 1985 was the year visible Air began to take shape (realized two years later in the Air Max I) and when the iconic Dunk emerged on collegiate basketball courts. Meanwhile, the Cortez, Blazer and Tailwind remained sport and style staples, granting a timely authenticity to the Stranger Things collection.

The first drop of the collaborative capsule incorporates Hawkins High's green and orange color scheme and Tiger mascot into a spirited mix. The collection launch June 27. A second drop of shoes arrive July 1. Dubbed the "OG Pack," each shoe carries a red, white and blue color scheme and celebrates 1985 Independence Day with a year marker on the heel and special firework display sock liner.

by Henrik Buzzi

Berlin is quite a lot! It’s impossible to put into words the unique, special character of the city. Its cultural life is rich and diverse like none other. What comes to mind first, is obviously the club culture. Some say that Berlin has two faces when it comes to clubbing- on one hand there are thousands of people visiting world-famous techno clubs. The insoles are theme printed each. The M1500 comes along with a lot of possibilities for individualization as there are three pairs of laces and three pairs of colorful lace tags provided. HANON x SONRA Proto “Wildcats”

by Henrik Buzzi

In a year of firsts and domestically ‘made-in’ partnerships, HANON are proud to present a brand new collaboration with German footwear brand SONRA and debut our HANON Proto ‘Wildcats’. SONRA is the brainchild of legendary sneaker enthusiast Hikmet Sugoer. Founded in 2016, the brand’s focus is handcrafted footwear which is domestically produced in Germany by skilled artisans. Launching with the Proto - a classic running silhouette, each release is manufactured to a strict limited edition and hand numbered utilising the most luxurious and locally sourced materials.

The HANON edition of the SONRA Proto takes cues from Hikmet’s legacy of recreating numerous colourways from over the last 10+ years and in honour of this approach we hark back to 2011 and one of our most cherished collaborations - the Wildcats! Originally drawing inspiration from a local grass roots running club and some old school colour mixing we utilise premium materials and handcrafted German production to block out the upper in mustard yellow with burgundy heel and toe overlays.

Additional details include 3M reflective hits on the toe and heel giving the shoe some added pop, as well as a perforated toebox, and a full veg tan leather lining. As SONRA and ourselves are both known for branding our footwear, this ‘Wildcats’ make-up features four embossed logo placements across the upper; SONRA text logo on both heel wraps, HANON Flame on both heels, SONRA logo on both tongues, and finally, a HANON logo lock-up on the veg tan leather insoles.

Rounding off the collab, the full upper is sat atop a specially designed clean white EVA midsole which is made in Italy, and we are treated to an updated black rubber outsole that features SONRA branding as the tread. Limited to only 200 pairs globally, each pair is individually numbered on the underside of the tongue as well as on a special suede hangtag, and comes packaged in the traditional SONRA shoe box. The RAFFLE is now live!

Vans Era ‘Warped Check’ – size? Exclusive

by Henrik Buzzi

Teaming up with the Californian skate experts over at Vans, Size? joined forces once more to create a psychedelic-inspired ‘Warped’ iteration of the Era. Channeling the colorful artistic vibes present at the time of Vans’ inception – and their off-limits design choices from ’66 right throughout the ‘70s – we’ve taken the brand’s 1976 Era and applied a psychedelic checked patterning throughout the pair’s multi-colored canvas uppers.

Think Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Beatles and Stones – the vibrant energy of their music flows heavily throughout the Era, whose striking palettes contrast vary shoe to shoe. The left uses a predominantly pink base, with accents of light blue making up the checks, while the right switches things up with blue as the base and pink for the checks. Both of the two boasts a monochrome warped check footbed, with a similar print working its way around the midsole. What’s more, we’ve painted the iconic waffle rubber outsole in a bright yellow hue for added hits of color. The Vans Era ‘Warped Check’ – size? Exclusive will be available via the size? previews app and in size? On June 7.

Sneaker Freaker x Asics Gel-Lyte III "Tiger Snake"

by Henrik Buzzi

Christened the Gel-Tiger Snake, this venomous varmint is a nod to Sneaker Freaker’s native antipodean fauna and Asics’ historical origins as the Onitsuka Tiger company. Aggressive, deadly and badass to the bone, the tiger snake has a fearsome reputation as a predator. With its luxurious sandy belly and stripey black upper, the snake’s natural camouflage is perfect for hiding in plain sight.

Buttery beige cowhide is next-level opulence, while micro-perf toe panels and suede stripes add subtle sprinkles of texture. On the medial side, poppin’ pink reflective 3M adds a dazzling counterpoint to a blacked-out midsole laced with neuro-toxic splatter. Solid gold text across the nubuck heel is a touch of class among the mayhem. This GEL-Tiger Snake has serious fangs! To mark the occasion, Sneaker Freaker produced a heavily customised GEL-Tiger Snake box complete with psyched-out illustrations from Alexander Heir. Screen-printed by hand using fluoro ink infused with actual tiger snake venom, the packaging is just as deadly as the GEL-Tiger Snake.
