Seveninch x hummel DHB

by Henrik Buzzi

Since the late 90’s, Joachim “Seveninch” Friis has pioneered the Danish sneaker and streetwear scene through his blog Seveninch. As a passionate collector and the main source of knowledge and inspiration for the growing Danish sneaker community, HUMMEL HIVE wanted to celebrate Seveninch and incorporate his love for classic silhouettes by collaborating on the iconic DHB. The DHB was initially custom designed for the German Handball Federation in 1976 and used as a high performance, functional lightweight indoor shoe for professional handballers. The look was simplistic yet innovative putting hummel at the forefront of the sport. The hummel x Seveninch DHB stays true to its original silhouette but is stripped down to a clean and minimal aesthetic without losing the design and origins of the sneaker. The Seveninch DHB features a buttery soft leather upper and is built on a gum outsole with distinctive reflective detailing to accentuate the famous hummel chevrons and the heel tab logo. As a final nod to the brand’s prestigious handball heritage, the insole features clean linear illustrations inspired by the handball court. Releasing February 23 at selected retailers such as hanon and limited to only 250 pair worldwide.
