Adidas Tobacco Riviera.

by Henrik Buzzi

Taking in the Italian and French Riviera trend of the early 70’s, the adidas Riviera was originally released in 1972 and designed to be a leisure shoe that made full use of its emblematic three-stripe design by simply moving the stripes forward so they could be seen when worn with casual legwear. Much-loved around the time of its release – even Stephen Spielberg wore a pair during the filming of Jaws – adidas have trawled the archives to bring a faithful rendition to our attention for 2016. Sympathetic to the OG design, the newly-named Tobacco Rivea is constructed with as buttery, soft vintage suede upper with velour stripe details, sat atop a complimenting gum sole unit. Adding more authenticity to this former rarity, this trefoil treat is finished with original branding to the tongue and sole unit, velour heel tab and the size is debossed into the tongue.
