First released in 1983 the hummel Marathona was one of the few runners designed and produced by the Danish sportswear brand. Now, after more than 33 years in hummel’s vast archives, OVERKILL brings it back in a collaboration version honouring the original specifications, including the classic double chevrons and the hallmark – a quartet of ventilation eyelets. The owners of OVERKILL, Thomas & Marc, browsed through old catalogues and archive products when visiting the hummel HQ. They knew immediately that the original Marathona had potential and was a silhouette worth resurrecting. The collaboration version of this Marathona is a result of a funny evening in the sacred halls of OVERKILL. Celebrating the colorful and golden moments of the 90s, and the era where Hypercolor was the shit, the CDO Marathona OG is decked in an optical white micro suede and a gradient mesh that transitions from light violet to deep purple. You find OVERKILL branding on the tongue, forefront, lace tag and lace tip. Together with matching “old school“ tube socks and a premium packing, oozing of 90’s illustrations, the collaboration is targeted the nostalgic sneaker fans and the lovers of true retro runners. Dropping today at selected European retailers such as hanon.
