Back in 2010 Boston’s popular sneaker boutique Bodega released a collection of four Shadow 5000’s. Not only was this a first for a new sub part of the brand called Saucony Elite but it marked Bodega as Saucony’s first ever collaboration partners. Originally limited to 300 pairs in each color and sold specifically via Japanese retailers, Nalu in Osaka, Lafayette in Yokohama, and Privilege in Shibuya. They were then released to the US market due to their popularity.
The idea behind Saucony Elite was to bring back classic silhouettes with premium materials. The “Bodega Re-Issues” are made from a premium suede and leather, sit on off white midsoles with gum soles and are available in Red or Blue. This re-release of two of the original Saucony ‘Elite’ Shadow 5000 series celebrates where the Saucony brand collaboration story started in style. Releasing January 9th at selected retailers such as hanon.
