Packer Shoes relationship with Reebok goes all the way back to their original Yonkers store and the early days of the brand when it was first introduced in this country. That golden era saw the introduction of numerous iconic Reebok models, but few that packed the visual punch of the original Aztec runner. As a tribute to the unforgettable 1979 color way, we applied its palette to the Classic Leather a few years back, and now with the OG Aztec reissue coming later this month, it seemed like a perfect time to celebrate its return with another homage project.
This time around, the iconic color scheme makes its way onto another legendary Reebok silhouette, the Instapump Fury. The standard neoprene Pump bladder combines with mesh underlays and suede accents for a breathable summer-friendly take on the Fury that’s finished off by a plush terrycloth lining and Packer heel branding. They’ve added a new twist to the expected Instapump Fury formula by adding three optional sets of laces that can be woven through the shoe for a fresh approach to the classic model’s look. Are the laces functional? Not at all. But does it add a twist to an iconic model. Available now at Packer Shoes.
