The latest Puma collaboration with New York based Rise has a little more of a tale to tell than most new shoe releases. In 1994 Rise co-founder Chase Ceparano lost his father to HIV/AIDS when he was only 10 years old. In honor of World Aids Day, Rise and Puma have come together on a Blaze of Glory dubbed, “New York is For Lovers”. The red colorway echoes the red ribbon of AIDS awareness and the collab brings attention to HIV/AIDS awareness with the use of the ribbon symbol on one of the lace locks with NYIFL taking up the other. In addition to the upcoming release, Rise will also be making a $15,000 donation to amFAR – the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Dropping December 12 at selected retailers such as hanon.
