Adidas Originals x Pharrell Williams / BBC “Pony Hair” Pack.

by Henrik Buzzi

Ten years ago Pharrell Williams launched footwear label “Ice Cream”. The main hook was a repeat pattern of diamonds and dollar signs and was picked up quickly by streetwearfashionistas, only a few months later his “Billionaire Boys Club” brand dropped and just as quickly sold out.
A decade later Pharrell and adidas are revisiting the style that kickstarted his sneaker line in the form of these two tributes to the iconic Stan Smith. Perhaps the most recognisable of all tennis shoes gets the BBC treatment with the use of pony hair with a detailed repeat print of the original “diamonds and dollar signs” Ice Cream branding on the upper and a soft full leather tongue and lining. As if this wasn’t enough these shoes include a very rare feature: the original ‘Helmet Head’ Billionaire Boys Club logo is placed on the tongue – a space usually reserved for the portrait of Mr. Stan Smith. In addition this model has a tinted translucent midsole and a de-bossed ‘Floating B’ logo on the heel tab. Available in two colour ways this latest Stan Smith designed by Pharrell Williams is completed by three sets of laces and a foot bed featuring anatomical artwork. Finally it comes presented in unique Billionaire Boys Club and adidas Originals co-branded packaging. Releasing November 20th at selected retailers such as hanon
