Premier x Nike SB Dunk High "Win some/Lose some"

by Henrik Buzzi

The thing about odds is they are rarely in your favor, and under normal circumstances losers walk away with nothing. Premier teamed up with Nike SB to offer an alternate outcome: win or lose, you’ll still walk away with the shoes on your feet. The “Win Some / Lose Some” Dunk High features a rich vachetta tan and white leather upper, a gold flaked translucent under sole and flat laces with gold metal tips in addition to the standard SB round laces. Gold foil stamps appear on the co-branded leather tongue tag, leather insole and hidden beneath the lace flaps.

The real hidden detail lies beneath the swoosh itself. While the vast majority of the swooshes will wear away to reveal a gold security pattern, some select pairs worldwide will feature a limited edition alternate swoosh with a co-branded pattern.  There is no additional prize if you receive one of the alternate swooshes, however you will be the owner of a very limited pair of Dunk Highs.  Each pair comes packaged inside a sealed, co-branded rigid box containing a foiled sticker pack and a lucky gold coin in a velvet pouch. Releasing August 18 at Premier.

AKOG x adidas Consortium UltraBOOST Uncaged

by Henrik Buzzi

The Munich-based contemporary fashion brand brings its commitment to premium materials and craftsmanship to a poolside-inspired pair of uncaged UltraBOOST.

The original UltraBOOST that launched in the early months of 2015 quickly established itself as the most impressive example of the high-performance functionality and meticulous craftsmanship that has come to define the adidas running shoe roster. The UltraBOOST Collective was formed later that year as an opportunity for some of the most revered brands and designers from around the world to create their own distinctive take on the shoe.

For their UltraBOOST collaboration, Munich-based brand A Kind of Guise teamed up with the adidas Consortium team and created the fictitious ‘AKOG Athletic Club’. Imagining the perfect holiday experience as a blend of gentle laps around the track, a spot of sightseeing and long lounging by the pool, the ‘club’ offers its guests the finest companions in the form of a new UltraBOOST style and accompanying towel. Their UltraBOOST boasts a chalk white Primeknit upper with a raised, rippling wave effect and an uncaged construction with wide, wraparound tonal lacing to emphasise the subtle yet distinctive textures. Asics Tiger Gel-Saga OG

by Henrik Buzzi

First touching down in 1991 for the burgeoning Japanese and US markets, the Gel-Saga was designed for the everyman and amassed a decent following through its comfort, fair price and smart targeting of the mid-mileage runner. It boasted many functional details including innovative GEL in the rear, a cushioning EVA midsole, Nylex collar padding and distinctive branding to the sidewalls. Despite its low-key debut, the Gel-Saga has evolved into a sought-after collectable and this season it returns in a selection of original colorways.

There have been many forms of the Gel-Saga released over the years, with the more recent interpretations making use of the slightly chunkier, rounder shape. These latest efforts hark back more towards the traditional slimmer profile designed for distance running on the road. The innovative GEL technology is incorporated within the sole unit to propel you forward with each step, while a compression moulded EVA midsole absorbs shock to cushion the impact of hard ground contact. Making use of a traditional material swatch, suede and textile uppers are complemented with hits of burgundy to the sidewalls, pull tab and the brand’s distinctive branding. Coming soon to selected retailers such as size?

Parra x Nike Air Max 1 & Zoom Spiridon

by Henrik Buzzi

It started with a simple but high-pressure question: “How could I do something that has not already been done?” From there, other stresses revealed themselves to Piet Parra, the multidisciplinary Dutch artist who was beginning his latest collaborative Air Max 1 project with Nike. Who is the audience today? What risks can be taken? Where should the work be a little conservative? How do you balance the interests of multigenerational enthusiasts?

The pressure he was feeling is understandable. Parra is responsible for several of the most coveted Air Max 1 colorways in history (2005’s Brownstone/Blue Reef-Dark Oak version, for example) and it has been almost a decade since the last one dropped. “There are two people who sit on your shoulder and watch what you're doing all the time. One says, ‘The collector is going to like this,’” he explains. “And then the opposite, which queries: ‘How does somebody who is 17 or 18 years old — with no idea about what I did before — how are they going to look at this?" Since his last Air Max 1 with Nike in 2009, Parra’s work has shifted from the typographical humor he was once known for toward an experiment with abstract compositions. He transitioned from working as an illustrator/designer to focusing more on painting and gallery exhibition.

If the first of Parra’s works with Nike were on what were known as City Packs, this current collaboration could be defined as a revival of that spirit — with both idea and opportunity expanded. This is reflected in the flat representation of city and countryside that forms a pattern that was applied to both the Air Max 1 and the Zoom Spiridon. Releasing at selkected retailers worldwide on July 21.

FITINK at Oslo Sneaker Fest 2018

by Henrik Buzzi

This was our first participation on a public sneaker-event and it was a HUGE success!
We packed up all various dope custom gear. Everything from OFF-WHITE Fire Ext, our clothing street-wear collection “BLVCK” and various accessories. On our arrival, we rigged up our tent in the Sentralen where this years OSF took place.

As soon as the doors opened for the public, our tent was surrounded by people who were interested in our products and the team behind FITINK. We were overwhelmingly surprised that so many have heard about our street-custom-wear concept. The demand for customs was impressive, but the most exciting thing was that we managed to sell out all of our 150 pairs of shoelaces. We were not expecting that huge demand on shoelaces, as of now we are working on making the shoelaces available on our FITINK-webshop. We’ve also had many custom-sneaker orders, including two pair’s of DELIVERED-IN Yeezy’s and a couple of template scratched custom sneakers.

Later in the evening our friend OnklP dropped by and we were just vibing. To sum it all up, it was simply an event with a lot of great colleagues, great atmosphere, and many visitors! We are super motivated from all the feedback and have a lot of great products in the making for the next year OSF!

In the meantime, make sure to FOLLOW us on Instagram for all the juicy customs, videos, and various other exciting content surrounded custom-street-fashion @fitinklife !

Until next year!
